Our firm originated in 1985 as an income tax preparation firm in St. Clair Shores, Michigan called Total Tax & Accounting. In 1996, driven by an influx of Michigan small business owners needing additional accounting and finance services, the company launched as a public accounting firm in Warren, Michigan.

Now as Partyka & Company, P.C. we offer a full line of services geared towards small and mid-sized businesses in a wide range of industries. We aim to provide well-balanced and practical accounting and tax advice to our clients located throughout the United States. We are proud to be members of the AICPA, MICPA, and NATP and hold ourselves to their high standards.

Our staff of accounting and tax professionals has various backgrounds that equip them to communicate advice and counsel to our clients in a relatable way. Matthew Partyka, CPAPrincipal

Matt is the founding Shareholder and President of the firm. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan and supervises the firm’s overall operations. Matt brings the firm’s clients over 32 years of experience in the accounting profession. Over those years, Matt has worked with a wide range of business and individual clients, providing them with high quality accounting, tax, business planning and business consulting services. Those services include financial statement analysis, business planning, tax planning, accounting systems management, and organizational consulting.

Throughout his career, Matt has learned the financial difficulties businesses face on a daily basis and he brings those factors to bear in formulating solutions to his clients’ problems. Matt’s unique and broad-based experience gives him invaluable insights that help Partyka’s clients anticipate issues and evaluate existing or proposed financial opportunities. He often works with his clients in evaluating business ventures and in making forecasts and projections for their needs. Matt focuses on communicating concepts to clients in a plain and understandable manner, with an ultimate concern for the growth, efficiency and success of the client.

Matt is a lifelong resident of the metropolitan Detroit, Michigan area and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University. Matt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.


Jeannie Pauli, CPASenior Accounting Advisor

Jeannie has been a partner of the firm since 1987. She received a Bachelor’s of Accountancy from Walsh College in 1986. She has been licensed to practice in the State of Michigan since 2001 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. Jeannie has more than 30 years working with clients in providing quality accounting and small business advisory services. Her experience includes construction, medical practice, retail, manufacturing, and assisting families and organizations with special needs adults and children.

Jeannie resides in Macomb Township with her husband Al and has three adult children. Jeannie actively participates in community events including the Special Olympics.


Susan Tafa, EASenior Tax Advisor

Sue received her Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University in 1974 and has been with Partyka & Company, P.C. since 1988. She is an enrolled agent (EA), enrolled to practice before the IRS, and has held that distinction since 1989. Sue is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants as well as the National Association of Tax Professionals. Her expertise in corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and nonprofit taxation provides value to our clients in the areas of preparation, compliance, planning, and consulting.

Sue lives in Shelby Township with her husband. They have two adult daughters. Sue enjoys reading, gardening, and keeping in touch with friends from college and the Peace Corps.

Christine McCoy, CPATax Manager

Christine received a Master’s of Accountancy from Walsh College in 2012 and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Baker College in 2010. She has worked in public accounting since 2008 and joined Partyka & Company, P.C. in 2009. Her work includes a focus on tax preparation and compliance, tax planning, and a variety of consulting projects. She has been a licensed CPA since 2014. Christine is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and is an active board member of the Walsh College Alumni Association.

Christine lives in St. Clair Shores and enjoys volunteering, sports, and spending time with friends and family.


Phil PartykaAssociate

Phil is a staff accountant who has been with the firm since October of 2012. Phil is a graduate of Hillsdale College where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting. He provides assistance in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a variety of clients in various industries.

Phil resides in Royal Oak and is an avid golfer and ice hockey player in his free time, while also pursuing his public accounting certification.
